Layered petals unfold in saturated pinks and deep crimson tones, while hand-applied gold ink traces select contours and details throughout the composition. The metallic accents catch shifting light across the surface, adding rhythm, contrast, and moments of quiet luminosity to the bloom.
This one-of-a-kind embellished artist proof is part of the Kintsugi Collection — a series inspired by the Japanese philosophy of kintsugi, or “golden joinery,” the practice of repairing broken pottery with gold and honoring imperfections as part of an object’s story.
These works began as slightly imperfect test prints created while learning to manage color through home printing. Rather than discarding them, I chose to continue the process by hand-finishing each piece with gold ink or gilding, allowing the learning process itself to become part of the final artwork.
Each embellished piece in the collection carries its own distinct variations and will not be reproduced.
