This one-of-a-kind version of "Pink Lilies" is finished by hand with composite gold leaf, tracing the edges of the petals, buds, and selected floral details.
Set against a soft lavender background, the pale pink lily and surrounding buds feel quiet and open, while the gilded lines add contrast and a reflective surface that shifts with the light. The gold follows the contours of the flower without overwhelming the simplified forms, giving the piece a subtle sense of depth and luminosity.
Lilies hold longstanding significance in Chinese culture and are often associated with harmony, togetherness, and enduring relationships. That symbolism adds another layer to a flower already valued for its graceful form and sense of renewal.
This piece began as part of my Kintsugi-inspired series, in which test prints and color variations were transformed through hand embellishment rather than discarded. Because the gold leaf was applied individually by hand, this is a unique physical version of "Pink Lilies" that will not be reproduced in exactly the same form.
