"3 Red Gladioluses" features three vivid red flower stalks set against a warm background, individually finished by hand with metallic gold ink.
Gold accents trace selected edges and details of the blooms, catching the light against the matte printed surface and adding subtle dimension to the composition. Two unique hand-embellished variations are available:
Gold Outlines Only — selected petals and details are traced with gold ink for a cleaner, more restrained finish.
Gold Outlines + Splatter — combines the outlined details with additional hand-applied gold splatter surrounding the blooms, creating a more expressive and energetic surface.
Gladioluses are often associated with strength and resilience, qualities that originally drew me to the flower. The deep reds and touches of gold also give the work a celebratory quality that resonates particularly well with Lunar New Year.
These pieces began as part of my Kintsugi-inspired series, in which test prints and color variations were transformed through hand embellishment rather than discarded. Because the gold details are applied individually by hand, each variation is a unique physical work and will not be reproduced in exactly the same form.
