Mount Vernon Storefront Window Murals

Existing digital paintings, reimagined for three downtown storefronts.

The Project

Client: Mount Vernon Downtown Association
Location: President Apartments, Mount Vernon, Washington
Commission year: 2025

The Mount Vernon Downtown Association selected my three floral concepts for a project transforming vacant storefront windows and doors into vinyl art murals. The brief called for bright, welcoming artwork that could connect multiple architectural openings and remain visually distinctive from a distance.

Drawing from my existing digital paintings, I developed three coordinated concepts: Peony Reverie, Tulip Season, and Cosmos Garden. Each storefront received its own floral theme, bringing together peonies, tulips, and cosmos in a connected celebration of seasonal color.

From concept to installation

I cropped and recomposed the paintings into concept mockups using the window proportions provided in the brief. These proposals showed how the artwork could extend across separate windows and doors while forming a cohesive display.

  • Peony Reverie — concept proposal. Existing digital paintings cropped and arranged for the storefront’s window and door proportions.

  • Peony Reverie — completed installation. The proposed composition translated into large-format vinyl across the entrance and adjoining windows.

Following selection, I supplied the original high-resolution digital artwork. MVDA’s production partner handled the final layout, scaling, preparation of individual panels, printing, and installation. My contribution combined the original paintings, artwork selection, and site-specific visual concepts.

  • Tulip Season — completed storefront installation.

  • Cosmos Garden — completed storefront installation.

Artwork for your space

I welcome inquiries about licensing existing artwork and developing site-specific adaptations for commercial and community spaces. Large-format applications can be produced in collaboration with your chosen printing and installation team.
